Wild Meadows cattle grazing diverse regenerative pasture in Northland

Farm to Table Regenerative Beef in Auckland and Northland

— Featured by Climate Action Tai Tokerau

It’s always encouraging when the way we farm gets noticed. Climate Action Tai Tokerau — a Northland group promoting practical climate action — recently featured Wild Meadows in an article about buying regenerative, farm-to-table meat in Northland and Auckland, and even used one of our farm photos as their header image.

What the article covers

The article looks at how customers across Te Tai Tokerau and Auckland can now buy regenerative meat directly from the farms that raise it, including through Out the Farm Gate — a website set up by farmers to help farmers sell direct to consumers, with transparency and fair pricing. Wild Meadows is one of the farms listed there.

It also explains what makes on-farm harvest by mobile abattoir different from home kill: a meat inspector is on board, which means farmers can legally sell that meat directly to customers. That’s exactly how our beef makes its journey from our paddocks to your freezer.

Why regenerative farming matters

Climate Action Tai Tokerau supports regenerative farming because rebuilding soil health does double duty — diverse pastures and reduced inputs restore soil biology, improve water retention, and turn farmland into a carbon sink that draws CO₂ out of the atmosphere and stores it underground.

That’s the thinking behind everything we do at Wild Meadows. Our holistic planned grazing moves cattle daily onto fresh, diverse pasture, building living soil season after season — it’s what our Tier 3 regenerative farm rating measures.
